Alpine men's giant slalom reset for Thursday

(Mt Higashidate,Siga Kogen,Yamanouchi)
9:30- Start

The Nagano Olympic organizing committee (NAOC) rescheduled the Alpine skiing men's giant slalom, postponed Wednesday because of poor course conditions, for 11:15 a.m. Thursday on Mt. Higashidate in Yamanouchi.

Race organizers called off the men's giant slalom, originally set to get under way at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday because snow overnight in the Shiga Kogen highlands had left the 1,487-meter course in poor condition.

The schedule for the women's slalom, meanwhile, was not changed and remains set for 9:30 a.m. Thursday on nearby Mt. Yakebitai, NAOC officials said. (Kyodo News)
