Pictograms of the Nagano Olympic Winter Games

|
At its general meeting held on Mar. 28 1994, the Nagano Olympic Organizing
Committee (NAOC) announced pictograms for each of the 14 sports at the '98
Nagano Olympics. These pictograms are used in Olympic publicity, pamphlets
and information signs around the venues at which events will be held.
All of the pictograms have designs which make use of curved lines, and are
unified with the Olympic Emblem which was created with the image of petals.
Colors will be reviewed in the future, as will their use in pins and other
Olympic merchandise. The NAOC Secretariat says that "We want to them to be
useful in Nagano's image strategies."
Continuing on from the emblem and mascots (the Snowlets), the pictograms
were also created by Landor Associates International, Ltd. in the U.S. (originally run March 29, 1994)
